About us
For over 28 years, Sardar Sarovar Nav Nirman Samiti has been a steadfast partner to the remote and underserved communities of Central India.
Our mission began with providing immediate aid, but we quickly learned that true change is built on empowerment. Today, our focus has evolved from welfare to sustainable development. Through our mobile medical units, community development programs, and educational initiatives, we are committed to creating lasting, positive change.
Our Approach to a Lasting Change
We believe in a holistic approach, tackling the root causes of hardship through targeted, on-the-ground programs to build healthier and more resilient communities
from the ground up.
  • Mobile Health Camps (MMUs)
Our fleet of over 100s Mobile Medical Units is the heart of our operation. We deliver free, quality healthcare
  • Community Empowerment
We foster self-reliance by forming Self-Help Groups (SHGs), providing skill development training.
  • Skill Development for Women
We run dedicated programs for women's empowerment, helping individuals earn a livelihood and take control of their future.
  • Tent Schools for Chidren
We believe every child deserves a chance to learn. Our initiatives provide free, quality education to tribal children.
A Need of the Hour
In the narrative of a rising, digital India, there exists another, parallel reality—an India that lives in the remote rural pocket, the isolated tribal hamlet, and the forgotten villages. For the millions who live here, a common fever can become a tragedy, a pregnancy can be a life-threatening event, and a child’s future can be stolen by the preventable scourge of malnutrition.
This is not a gap in healthcare access; it is a chasm.
Mobile Medical Units
In states like Madhya Pradesh, where over 35% of children are stunted and 67% are anemic, and Chhattisgarh, where 38% are stunted. These regions, often designated "Aspirational Districts," face crippling health and nutrition gaps.
In the Northeast, mountainous terrain further isolates communities.
Emergency Assistance
Equipped for immediate response, our units provide critical first-line treatment in medical emergencies, stabilizing patients and bridging the vital gap to hospital care.
Data-Driven Safety Net
By tracking disease patterns and health trends in real-time, each MMU serves as an intelligent safety net, enabling targeted interventions and early outbreak warnings.
Clinic to the Patient

We eliminate the barrier of distance by taking a fully-equipped clinic directly to the patient's doorstep.

Builds Trust and Fights Unawareness
Through consistent visits and culturally sensitive communication, our teams build lasting trust and replace medical myths with life-saving knowledge.
Hub for Preventive Care
Our MMUs act as a proactive health hub, delivering crucial vaccinations, nutritional counseling, and regular check-ups to prevent disease before it takes root.
Where the Road Ends, Our Care Begins
Each MMU is a primary healthcare center on wheels, fully equipped to provide comprehensive services—from prenatal check-ups to chronic disease management—in communities that have been
forgotten by conventional systems.

Let's take a deep dive
Targeting India's Silent Health Crises
In remote communities, silent health threats create a devastating cycle of poverty and poor health. Unmonitored pregnancies, childhood malnutrition, and undiagnosed chronic diseases steal futures before they can begin
  • Malnutrition in Women & Children
We are fighting to break the intergenerational cycle of malnutrition by ensuring women and children receive the critical nutrition they need to grow, learn, and thrive.
  • Pregnancy Care
We are fighting to make every motherhood journey a safe one, delivering essential prenatal and postnatal care to protect both mother and child.
  • Early Detection of Chronic Diseases
We are fighting the silent killers like diabetes and hypertension by bringing early-stage screening and management directly to the village, preventing life-threatening complications.
A Day in the Life of an MMU
6:00 AM
6:00 AM
Before sunrise, our team of doctors, nurses, and technicians prepares the MMU. Medicines are stocked, equipment is checked, and the day's route to a remote village, often hours away, is confirmed.
The Day Begins
10:00 AM
10:00 AM
The arrival of the blue and white MMU is a sign of hope. Villagers, who have often been waiting, gather in an orderly fashion. A sense of trust and familiarity fills the air, built over years of consistent service.
Arrival
1:00 PM
1:00 PM
The clinic is in full swing. A doctor listens to an elderly man's chest, a nurse administers a vaccination to a child, a technician takes a blood sample, and a health educator leads a discussion with a group of women. Every interaction is one of compassion and professionalism.
The Heart of the Camp
4:00 PM
4:00 PM
As the day winds down, hundreds of patients have been treated. Prescriptions are filled, advice is given, and referrals are made. For many, this is the only medical care they will receive all month.
Care Delivered

The team packs up and begins the long journey back to base, already planning for the next day's camp in another village. The work is tiring, but the impact is immeasurable.
The Journey Back
Our Benefeciaries
We practice most common directions of yoga that help achieve peace and harmony with your body
  • Kamla Devi,30
Agricultural laborer and a member of a local women's Self-Help Group (SHG).
Although she appeared healthy, the MMU's screening camp detected her chronically high insulin insensitivity (diabetes), which she was completely unaware of. She received a free consultation, the initial course of medication, and vital counseling on reducing sugar and sweets in her diet.
  • Ramesh Kumar,27
    Daily wage construction worker
Ramesh had been suffering from a persistent cough, low-grade fever, and unexplained, drastic weight loss that left him too weak to work. The doctor at the MMU camp suspected and preliminarily diagnosed him with Tuberculosis (TB). The MMU team provided him with immediate nutritional supplements and counseling and, most importantly, referred him to the district hospital.
  • Anjali Debbarma,62
Homemaker and weaver of traditional textiles
Anjali was suffering from extreme fatigue, severe joint pain, and a complete loss of appetite, which led to her frail condition. The MMU doctor diagnosed her with Severe Iron-Deficiency Anemia and Osteoarthritis. She was immediately provided with a course of iron supplements, calcium tablets for her bones, and medication to manage her joint pain. Crucially, the team also counseled her family on preparing simple, iron-rich meals from local vegetables, helping her regain strength and improve her quality of life.
  • Amjad 31,
Small-scale farmer and part-time tractor driver.
Amjad came to the camp out of curiosity, feeling perfectly fine. However, a routine check-up by the MMU team revealed he had dangerously high blood pressure (Hypertension), a silent condition he was completely unaware of. He was counseled on the serious risks of stroke and heart disease and received guidance on lifestyle changes (like reducing salt) and the initial medication to manage his condition, likely preventing a future medical catastrophe.

Our Blueprint for Change - The Implementation Plan
Our response is a multi-phased, strategic operation designed for maximum impact and efficiency.
  • Phase 1: Planning and Procurement
We begin with data-driven needs assessments to identify the most vulnerable regions. We then procure and customize our Mahindra Bolero/Force Vans/Eicher Trucks, equipping them with essential diagnostic tools, medication storage, and first-aid supplies.
  • Phase 2: Building the Team
We recruit a dedicated team of skilled doctors, nurses, technicians, and health educators. We prioritize hiring local personnel who understand the culture and language, and provide rigorous training on camp operations and community engagement.
  • Phase 3: On-the-Ground Implementation
We develop a precise itinerary for our camps, coordinating with local community leaders to ensure a smooth process. Our teams then deliver a comprehensive suite of services, from health check-ups and diagnostic tests to health education workshops.
  • Phase 4: Rigorous Monitoring & Evaluation
We maintain meticulous records of every patient, test, and medicine distributed. This data is tracked against key performance indicators (KPIs) and reviewed annually to measure our impact and refine our approach for even better outcomes.

To our dedicated drivers, thank you for navigating the last mile and turning uncharted paths into lifelines.
